The preparation method includes: activating kaolin; preparing mixed powder; preparing the alkali activating solution; preparing the aluminosilicate polymer; curing for forming. The preparation method is simple in process, capable of realizing direct forming of complex or large parts at low temperature and wide in application range. The carbon-based wave absorbing material is low in cost and high in unit thickness absorptivity and meets requirements on thinness, lightness, width and strength.
