The method comprises the step of: transmitting cycle information between MEP devices by using a cyclic TLV field to adaptively complete adjustment of the transmission cycle of a CCM frame, thereby completing cycle negotiation between the MEP devices and reaching an agreement of a cycle. The method can avoid a dUNP alarm which may be caused by a reason that the opposite MEP device does not support the to-be-adjusted transmission cycle of the local MEP device. Besides, in the cycle negotiation process, the local MEP device does not need to stop sending the CCM frame, so as not to influence the protection on normal services.
