Abstract

The invention discloses a virtual license plate-based unlicensed vehicle identification method. The method is characterized by comprising the steps of 1, establishing virtual license plates: performing vehicle detection based on videos or images to obtain vehicle close-up images, performing feature extraction on the vehicle images, generating the virtual license plates, and establishing a virtual license plate library; and 2, identifying the virtual license plate library: performing target vehicle detection based on the videos or the images to obtain a target vehicle close-up image, performing feature extraction on the target vehicle image, generating a virtual license plate, and comparing the virtual license plate with the virtual license plate library. According to the method, a unique vehicle virtual license plate is generated for each vehicle based on image identification, so that the target vehicle can be effectively searched and retrieved without license plate identification; and therefore, the method is of positive significance on various traffic applications such as highway fee evasion check, red light running of unlicensed vehicles, quick search of accident vehicles and the like.
