example 1

[0063] Example 1 is a computing system comprising:

[0064] user interface components;

[0065] a master settings configuration component that controls the user interface components to present a settings configuration user input mechanism and detects actuation of the settings configuration user input mechanism indicating settings that configure settings for tenants using multiple different locations configuration input;

[0066] a metadata generation component that generates a set of locale-independent settings metadata that is independent of the plurality of different settings on which the configuration is deployed based on the settings configuration input. locale, and indicates the configuration settings; and

[0067] A settings output component that outputs the set of locale-independent settings metadata for access by each of the plurality of different locales.

example 2

[0068] Example 2 is the computing system of any or all of the preceding examples, wherein each of the plurality of different locations includes a corresponding cluster of servers that uses settings to implement functions based on the set of locale-independent settings metadata to implement the settings, and wherein the metadata generation component is configured to generate the set of locale-independent Set metadata.

example 3

[0069] Example 3 is the computing system of any or all of the previous examples, wherein the metadata generation component is configured to generate the set of locale-independent settings metadata to identify the settings and A setting value indicating whether the setting is applied to the locale, the setting implementing function realizing the application of the setting.

Abstract

A settings management system in a remote server environment generates user interface displays with settings management user input mechanisms and detects actuation of these user input mechanisms. Based on detected actuations, setting configuration metadata is generated for a given setting. Settings metadata is exported for access by a plurality of disparate, heterogeneous computing environments and is consistent across all of the environments.

Description

Background technique [0001] Computer systems are currently in widespread use. Some computer systems are local in that they operate in a geographically local location relative to the end user. Other computer systems work in remote server environments, such as in the cloud. [0002] A single organization may use multiple different types of computer systems deployed in multiple different computer system architectures. Additionally, client systems can access data or resources from a variety of different locations. For example, a client system may access information or resources from a local (or local) cluster of servers. The same client system can also access information stored in one or more private cloud places dedicated to the organization where the client system is deployed, or the client can access information from one or more public cloud places. A public cloud premises can also be a multi-tenant system shared among many different customers. [0003] Currently, administ...
