Abstract

The invention provides a melody generation method and a melody generation device based on a neural network. The method comprises the steps of: acquiring an initial note sequence, preset duration and initial features of the preset duration, wherein duration of a note having the shortest duration in the initial note sequence is less than the preset duration; calculating duration features of each preset duration according to the preset duration, the initial features and a duration neural network model; and calculating the notes according to the calculated duration features of each preset duration, the initial note sequence and a note neural network model, and acquiring a melody according o the calculated notes. Through extracting the features of the melody on different time scales, the structural features of the melody in different duration are considered, melody fragments with good long-range structures are generated through utilizing collaboration of various trained neural network models when generating the melody, the authenticity of the generated melody is improved, and the auditory effect can be ensured.
