Abstract

A bicycle operating device comprises a base member, an operating member, a piston, and an electrical switch. The base member includes a first end to be mounted to a bicycle handlebar, a second end opposite to the first end, and a cylinder bore. The operating member comprises a proximal portion and a distal portion. The distal portion is pivotally coupled to the base member about a pivot axis. Thedistal portion farther from the proximal portion than the pivot axis. The piston is movably provided in the cylinder bore and operably coupled to the operating member in order to move in the cylinderbore in response to the pivoted movement of the operating member. The electrical switch is disposed at the second end and farther from the distal portion of the operating member than the pivot axis.
