The method takes the consideration of correlation between different indexes to perform risk assessment for operation of an active power distribution network. The method comprises the steps of: 1) analyzing technical content of the active powerdistribution network, and extracting influence factors of safety operation of the active power distribution network; comprehensively considering economy, feasibility and relational degree for faultsof the active power distribution network, screening the influence factors, and establishing a risk assessment index system of operation of the active power distribution network on this basis; 3) analyzing the influence of the correlation of the same-level indexes, the feedback action of the upper and lower levels of indexes and different indexes on the safety operation of the active power distribution network, and determining weights of the indexes; and 4) comprehensively considering probability values and a severities of operation risks of the active power distribution network, establishing arisk assessment model of operation of the active power distribution network, and determining a risk assessment value of operation of the active power distribution network.
