Abstract

The invention discloses a method for determining the surface defects of a steel coil based on the distribution characteristics of surface defects. The method includes the following steps: 1. determining data range; 2. filtering noise data; and 3. standardizing positions of the defects of the steel coil: transforming the coordinates of the defects of a steel coil to between 0 and 1, wherein the length and width of the steel coil are standardized to first level. According to the invention, the method herein can give a quantitative description of the surface defects of the steel coil based on thedistribution characteristics, provides a new perspective for analyzing the surface defects, and completes defect classification based on the distribution characteristics of the surface defects. The method can provide data support for technical experts to track the reasons for the defects in the analysis of defects in batches and cross sets so as to increase the efficiency in determining surface defects and lower influence by manual factors on determination of defects.
