Embodiment Construction

[0023] The invention relates to a semi-submersible ship. In particular, the present invention relates to a semi-submersible vessel having a specific support structure between the platform and the buoys of the semi-submersible vessel.

[0024] figure 2 A perspective view of a semi-submersible vessel 200 is shown. Similar to the known semi-submersible vessel 100 , the semi-submersible vessel 200 also includes a platform 210 , columns 220 , buoys 230 and brackets 240 . Water level 260 illustrates the water level of semi-submersible vessel 200 while it is being transported (ie, moved to a new location). Water level 270 illustrates the water level of the semi-submersible when it is operating (ie, anchored at one location). In use, the buoy 230 is partially submerged under water with the stand 240 above the water level 260 during transport. This ensures that the bracket 240 is not dragged during transport. This is also advantageous for visual inspection.

Abstract

This invention relates to a semi-submersible vessel (200). The semi-submersible vessel (200) includes a deck (210), at least four columns (220) supporting the deck, a first pontoon (230), a second pontoon (230), a first brace (240) and a second brace (240). Each column (220) comprises an outer skin, an inner skin, and a number of reinforcing plates spaced apart from each other and connecting the inner skin to the outer skin, forming a double skin arrangement. The first pontoon (230) is connectable to a first pair of columns (220) and the second pontoon (230) is connectable to a second pair ofcolumns (220). The first brace (240) is connectable to the first of each of the two pairs of columns (220) and the second brace (240) connects the second of each of the two pairs of columns (220).

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a semi-submersible ship. In particular, the present invention relates to a semi-submersible vessel having a specific support structure between the platform and the buoys of the semi-submersible vessel. Background technique [0002] figure 1 A typical semi-submersible vessel 100 is shown comprising a platform 110 for a workspace supported by four or more columns 120 which in turn are supported by two or more buoys 130 . The buoys 130 are submerged in water and provide most of the buoyancy. Brackets 140 are provided to connect a pair of columns 120 to form a loop between platform 110 , columns 120 and buoys 130 . [0003] According to the function and displacement of the ship, figure 1 The conventional double-pontoon half-body structure forms shown in either use many braces to form a truss structure to resist wave loads on the pontoons and columns, or use large columns with beam haunches to fasten the platform box to resist w...
