Abstract

Methods and apparatus for wireless communication are described for enhanced machine type communication (eMTC) cell acquisition utilizing narrowband (NB-IoT) synchronization channel(s). The method and apparatus may use the NB-IoT acquisition signal to perform the first part of the cell acquisition. The second part of the cell acquisition may be performed using an eMTC acquisition signal determined based at least in part on the NB-IoT acquisition signal.
