The method comprises the steps of obtaining a to-be-identified character image; wherein the character image to be identified comprisesbook description information; performing feature extraction on the to-be-identified text image by adopting a first deep network to obtain a first feature image; performing scale transformation on thefirst feature image to obtain a second feature image; performing textbox detection on the second feature image, and removing redundant textboxes; and carrying out character recognition on the text box with the redundancy removed by adopting a second deep network to obtain a character recognition result. According to the character recognition method provided by the embodiment of the invention, thetime consumed for inputting library collection information can be effectively shortened, and the information input efficiency is greatly improved.
