Abstract

An apparatus comprising a processor configured to: receive an audio signal from a near-field microphone, wherein the audio signal is an input in a spatial audio mix, the near-field microphone being associated with a first sound source; A beamformed audio signal, wherein the beamformed audio signal is the result of forming a beam directed from the microphone array to a microphone array of near-field microphones so as to enhance the audio signal; determining that no other sound sources within the sound scene comprising the first sound source are a duration of the activity; and determining a time difference between the audio signal and the beamformed audio signal during the duration to enable alignment of the audio signal and the beamformed audio signal.
