Abstract

In a method of manufacturing a disposable flexible container for a fluid product, a method of sealing the flexible container when such container comprises an intumescent material is disclosed. The method includes forming a partially complete container blank having a layer of flexible material. The layered structure includes a first space for a fluid product and a second space for an expanding material. The method of sealing the flexible container includes adding an intumescent material to the second space, and pressing portions of at least some of the layers together to close the second space.
