Abstract

The invention provides a wax filter solution for a speaker of a hearing aid. A hearing aid (2) comprises a speaker unit (6); a speaker snout (8) defining a sound canal (12) having a longitudinal axis(X), a lateral axis (Y) and a sound canal opening (14); an ear piece (24) configured to be attached to the speaker snout (8) and an ear wax filter (20). The sound canal (12) is configured to guide sound generated by the speaker unit (6) through the sound canal (12) into the ear piece (24). The ear wax filter (20) is slidably arranged in the speaker snout (8) through a first opening (16) allowing the ear wax filter (20) to be radially inserted into the sound canal (12).

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to hearing aids comprising earwax filters. The present invention is applicable to a variety of different hearing aids, including receiver-in-the-ear (RITE) hearing aids and behind-the-ear (BTE) hearing aids. Background technique [0002] In many different types of hearing aids, including receiver-in-the-ear (RITE) and behind-the-ear (BTE) types, the wax filter is mounted in a tip that is inserted into the ear canal. Earpieces are typically mounted on top of the filter and connected to the mini-mating interface. [0003] The wax filter will gradually fill with wax over time. As a result, the acoustic performance of the hearing aid will gradually decrease, or in some cases the earwax filter will fill up, whereby the hearing aid will not be suitable for use. [0004] Prior art filters are so small that they require the use of tools to attach to the tip. In order to insert a prior art filter into a hearing aid, the hearing aid nee...
