The method and the device comprise the following steps: acceleration data of an outdoor unit of the air conditioner is obtained at each other preset time length; then, a vibration total value of the outdoor unit of the airconditioner is generated according to the acceleration data of the outdoor unit of the air conditioner; the vibration total value is compared with a preset vibration threshold; and when the vibrationtotal value is higher than the preset vibration threshold, the resonance control is performed to prevent resonance of the outdoor unit of the air conditioner. The vibration total value calculated through the acceleration data of the outdoor unit of the air conditioner is more accurate compared with vibration conditions roughly detected by directly using a sensor, so that the air conditioner outdoor unit resonance control method can realize the resonance control more precisely, and can effectively reduce the risks of outdoor unit falling and personal injury caused by the resonance of the outdoor unit and walls.
