In Proceedings of the 41st Annual Symposium on Fundamentals of Computer Science, FOCS'00, p. 565-, Washington, DC, USA, 2000, IEEE Computer Society], but the relative Higher latency (e.g., 12.6 seconds per block on average [C. Decker and R. Embodiment Construction

[0047] Before discussing embodiments of the invention, some terms may be described in further detail.

[0048] A "digital asset" may refer to digital content associated with value. In some cases, a digital asset may also indicate a transfer of value. For example, a digital asset may include data indicative of a transfer of monetary value, such as fiat or cryptocurrency. In other embodiments, digital assets may correspond to other non-monetary values, such as access rights data (eg, number of authorized uses or time allotment for accessing information) and ownership data (eg, digital rights data). A digital asset may also include information about one or more attributes of the digital asset. For example, digital assets may include information useful for transferring value from one entity or account to another. Digital assets may also include remittance information (eg, information identifying the sending entity). In some embodiments, a digital asset may include one or more ...

Abstract

AA method is disclosed. The method includes: a) receiving node identifiers from nodes of a plurality of nodes in a computer network; b) determining a plurality of node committees in a sampler graph comprising a plurality of nodes, wherein the node is present in a node committee in the plurality of node committees; c) and i) generating a random string; ii) performing a proof of work process using the random string and a hash function; iii) if the proof of work process yields a solution that is acceptable, then broadcasting the solution to all other nodes in the plurality of nodes, wherein the other nodes verify the solution; and iv) if the other nodes verify the solution, the node is elected to a subcommittee for the node committee, wherein the subcommittee updates the sampler graph; and d)repeating steps b) and c) until a leader committee is determined.

Description

[0001] Cross References to Related Applications [0002] This application claims the benefit of U.S. Provisional Application No. 62 / 509,655, filed May 22, 2017, and U.S. Provisional Application No. 62 / 668,122, filed May 7, 2018, which are published in their entirety for all purposes Incorporated herein by reference. Background technique [0003] The global financial system is highly centralized, making it resistant to change, prone to failures and attacks, and inaccessible to the billions of people who need basic financial tools. Cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin [Satoshi Nakamoto, Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System, 2008, available at https: / / bitcoin.org / bitcoin.pdf] are designed to use an "open membership" that allows participants to large decentralized network to avoid these limitations. In this model, participants do not require established identities to join the system and can join or leave the protocol at any time. [0004] Decentralization introduces the ...
