Embodiment Construction

[0031] The inventors have discovered that information about clinical trials that have previously occurred can be used to obtain valuable information about the suitability of treatment for a subject, such as a patient. For example, data related to a clinical trial that has ended (for which a particular subject will have qualified) can be checked and then used to decide whether a treatment (e.g., a treatment studied as part of a previous clinical trial) is suitable for a particular subject and May provide clinical benefits for specific subjects.

[0032] Such as figure 1 As shown, aspects of the invention can be implemented as a device or a system. figure 1 An example of a device or system including the processor 102, such as the clinical support system 100, is shown. The system 100 may include a computing device, such as a desktop computer, a laptop or tablet computer, a smart phone, a server, a network of computing devices, or any other device or system with suitable processing f...

Abstract

A clinical decision support system (100) is disclosed. The clinical decision support system (100) comprises a processor (102) configured to: establish a subject profile for defining a subject according to a plurality of features; identify a set of clinical trials that are relevant to the subject, wherein each clinical trial in the set of relevant clinical trials corresponds to at least one therapyhas inclusion criteria that are satisfied by features of the plurality of features of the subject profile; rank the therapies corresponding to the relevant clinical trials; and output the ranking ofthe therapies for the subject. A method and a computer program product are also disclosed.

Description

Technical field [0001] The present invention relates to clinical decision support, and more specifically, to systems and methods for ranking treatments related to subjects. Background technique [0002] When clinicians are required to choose the treatment to be provided to the subject, clinical guidelines or clinical pathways are usually used to help clinicians make decisions. The subject can be provided with the selected treatment for a period of time, during which time the subject's response to the treatment can be monitored. Regarding some diseases, such as cancer, treatment may lead to an increase in the resistance of the disease to treatment, and may lead to the progression (ie, exacerbation) of the disease. [0003] For some diseases, the first and second treatments (referred to as first-line and second-line treatments) may be unsuccessful, and as a result, subsequent treatments (for example, third-line treatment) may have little or no treatment purpose , But may aim to ext...
