Abstract

A system and method for multipath estimation is disclosed. In some embodiments, the method includes performing a first weight estimation operation for a first number of multipath components of a received correlation, calculating a remaining error energy by subtracting a sum of estimated multipath components from the received correlation, determining whether a satisfaction criterion is met for theremaining error energy, and, in response to determining that the satisfaction criterion is not met, performing a second weight estimation operation for a second number of multipath components, the second number being greater than the first number.

Description

[0001] This application claims U.S. Provisional Application No. 62 / 805,876, entitled "Systems and Methods for Providing Multipath Suppression in a Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) Receiver," filed February 14, 2019 and filed in 2019 Priority and benefit to US Application No. 16 / 408,277, filed May 9, the entire contents of which are incorporated herein by reference. technical field [0002] One or more aspects of embodiments in accordance with the present disclosure relate to navigation, and more particularly, to multipath mitigation in global navigation satellite system receivers. Background technique [0003] Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receivers can make pseudorange, carrier measurements, and carrier phase measurements to calculate the receiver's position and velocity. The primary GNSS signals tracked by the receiver may be line-of-sight (LOS) signals. However, multipath occurs when GNSS signals are reflected from objects (eg, the walls of a buildin...
