Embodiment Construction

[0018] The present disclosure provides a means to enable a device on an automotive (or industrial) network to wake up the physical layer (PHY) of a link partner on the network. In an automotive environment this could be eg a central processor waking up a physical layer device coupled to a sensor (eg a camera).

[0019] figure 1 It shows the wake-up flow in one embodiment of the present disclosure, where the transmission mode is to be determined. When the physical layer receives the local wakeup request loc_wake_req, the physical layer changes from the DISABLE_TRANSMITTER state to the WAKETRANSMIT state. In the wake-up transmission state, turn on the wake-up pulse timer wup_timer. The transmitter sends wake-up pulses in a defined pattern. After the wup_timer_done defined by the timer, the physical layer changes from the WAKE TRANSMIT state to the WAKE TRANSMIT DONE state. When the wake-up transmission is completed, the local wake-up request is cleared, and the transmission ...

Abstract

The embodiment of the invention relates to automotive Ethernet, and provides a method for waking up a physical layer of a first node in a lowpower mode. The first node is in a network. The network comprisesat least thefirst node and a second node in an awake mode, and the first node and the second node havetransceivers coupled by a substantially fixed communication path. The method comprises stepsof obtaining a signal at the transceiver of the second node, the signal being designed to be transmitted at a predefined symbol rate, transmitting the signal from the transceiver of the second node tothe physical layer of the first node at a symbol rate lower than the predefined symbol rate ina predetermined duration, and stopping the transmission of the signal at the end of the predetermined duration.

Description

technical field [0001] Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to Ethernet, and more particularly to a method and device for waking up a physical layer of a first node in a low power mode in an automotive Ethernet. Background technique [0002] Currently, the specifications using Open Alliance TC10 specify the capabilities and requirements of the Automotive Ethernet 1000Base-T1 sleep and wake concept. However, the specification does not specify how to wake up a sleeping device. Contents of the invention [0003] One of the purposes of the present disclosure is to solve the above-mentioned problems in the prior art. [0004] One aspect of the present disclosure provides a method for waking up a physical layer of a first node in a low power mode, the first node being in a network comprising at least the first node and a second node in an awake mode, the first node being in an awake mode A node and a second node have transceivers coupled by a substantially fixed commun...
