Abstract

According to a first aspect, there is provided a method for enabling communication of data relating to samples of electrical measurements, the method being performed in an intelligent electronic device IED comprising a cellular radio module, the IED being configured to protect an electrical system equipment. The method comprises the steps of: using a cellular radio module to detect channel quality, the channel quality being related to the channel between the IED and the base station; using the cellular radio module to transmit packets, each packet including samples related to electrical measurements for protecting power system equipment related data; and increasing the sampling rate of the electrical measurements when the channel quality is worse than a first threshold.
