[0034] figure 1 is a perspective view of elevator system 101 including elevator car 103 , counterweight 105 , tension member 107 , guide rail 109 , machine 111 , position reference system 113 and controller 115 . The elevator car 103 and the counterweight 105 are connected to each other by tension members 107 . Tension members 107 may include or be configured as, for example, ropes, steel cables, and / or coated steel belts. Counterweight 105 is configured to balance the load of elevator car 103 and is configured to facilitate movement of elevator car 103 within elevator shaft 117 and along guide rail 109 simultaneously and in opposite directions relative to counterweight 105 .

[0035] Tension member 107 engages machine 111 , which is part of the overhead structure of elevator system 101 . Machine 111 is configured to control movement between elevator car 103 and counterweight 105 . The position reference system 113 may be mounted on a fixed part at the top of the elevator s...

Abstract

A method of monitoring conveyance equipment within a conveyance system including: detecting a plurality of accelerations of the conveyance equipment; determining a number of maximum accelerations of the plurality of accelerations that are above a threshold acceleration; determining that the number of maximum accelerations exceeds a threshold number of maximum accelerations within a threshold timeperiod; and determining a health level of the conveyance system in response to the number of maximum accelerations within the threshold time period.

Description

technical field [0001] Embodiments herein relate to the field of transport systems, and in particular to methods and apparatus for monitoring transport equipment of transport systems. Background technique [0002] When performing maintenance, it can be difficult to determine the location and condition of conveyance equipment within conveyance systems such as, for example, elevator systems, escalator systems, and moving walkways. Contents of the invention [0003] According to an embodiment, a method of monitoring a conveyance device within a conveyance system is provided. The method includes: detecting a plurality of accelerations of the transport device; determining a number of maximum accelerations of the plurality of accelerations above a threshold acceleration; determining that the number of maximum accelerations exceeds a threshold number of maximum accelerations within a threshold period of time; and in response to the amount of maximum acceleration within the thres...
