Abstract

The invention relates to a method for determining loudspeaker position changes. A system and method are described for determining whether a speaker device has been repositioned, tilted, rotated or environment-changed such that one or more parameters for driving the speaker may be altered and / or a complete reconfiguration of the speaker system may be performed. In one embodiment, a system may include a set of sensors. The sensors provide readings that are analyzed to determine 1) whether the speaker has moved since a previous analysis, and / or 2) a degree of change in distance of movement and / or orientation of the speaker since a previous analysis. On the basis of determining that the level of movement is below the threshold, the system adjusts previous parameters for driving the one or more speakers. By adjusting previous parameters rather than performing complete recalibration, the system provides more efficient techniques to ensure that the speaker continues to produce accurate sound for the listener.
