The method for guaranteeing the downward compatibility of the JAVA external service comprises the following steps: inserting a construction tool in a construction process of the JAVA external service; obtaining a current interface definition parameter based on the JAVA file by utilizing the construction tool; judging whether downward compatibility conditions are met or not according to the current interface definition parameters and historical interface definition parameters obtained from a preset database; and if yes, continuing to construct the JAVA external service based on the JAVA file, and storing the interface definition parameters of the JAVA external service of the current version in the preset database after the JAVA external service is constructed. According to the method for guaranteeing the downward compatibility of the JAVA external service, downward compatibility check can be accurately achieved, the method is completed based on the construction tool, manual check is not needed, and the invention has the advantage of being high in efficiency.
