Abstract

Provided are a device and a method for generating a two-dimensional map and a surround-view image in which an object for which the position reliability is low is rendered as a magnified display object. The present invention has a data processing unit that receives an input of a photographic image from a camera that captures an image of the area around a vehicle, and generates a two-dimensional map containing objects around the vehicle. The data processing unit generates a two-dimensional map and a surround-view image that include a magnified display object for which a magnified area has been set for an object for which the position reliability is low, said magnified area expanding around the object. The data processing unit determines that an object having an image height equal to or greater than a predetermined image height threshold value is an object for which the position reliability is low, and determines that an object not having an image height equal to or greater than the image height threshold value is an object for which the position reliability is high.
