Abstract

The invention provides a method for preventing and controlling insect pests by composting fallen leaves and waste branches of Swietenia macrophylla. The method comprises the following steps: (1) mixing the fallen leaves and waste branches of Swietenia macrophylla, charcoal and kitchen garbage as compost raw materials; (2) pretreating the compost raw materials to enable the carbon nitrogen ratio of the raw materials to be 25-35; (3) feeding the pretreated raw materials into a fermentation tank for composting fermentation, performing primary fermentation in an intermittent aeration mode with a turning frequency of 3-5 d/time, and continuously carrying out secondary fermentation by adopting an intermittent aeration mode with a turning frequency of 6-7d/time so as to obtain a fertilizer; and (4) applying the fertilizer into the soil.
