The invention discloses a setting method of an image processing apparatus, a recording medium, and an image processing system, which can improve convenience of a user when initial setting of the image processing apparatus is carried out. A method for setting a printer (2) performs initial setup of the printer (2) by using a setting image displayed on a terminal device (1). The method includes displaying, in a chat style in the setting image, a plurality of information logs regarding the initial setup of the printer (2), an instruction information log regarding instruction information including an instruction for a user who operates the printer (2), and a response log regarding a user response input by the user in response to the instruction information.
