Abstract

The present disclosure relates to providing a pre-5th-Generation (5G) or 5G communication system for supporting higher data rates beyond a 4th-Generation (4G) communication system such as Long Term Evolution (LTE). An apparatus of a base station and a terminal in a wireless communication system and a method performed by the same are provided. According to another aspect of the present disclosure, there is provided a method performed by a base station in a wireless communication system, the method comprising: receiving, from a terminal, one or more measurement results associated with one or more cells; identifying a first cell of the one or more cells based on the robustness information of each cell; and transmitting a control message including information indicating the first cell to the terminal, where the robustness information of each cell includes robustness information of the first cell, and where the robustness information of the first cell is associated with one or more available beams of the first cell.
