Abstract

The invention provides a camera and a method for facilitating installation of the camera. The method includes capturing a video stream of a scene (102) when a camera is installed at a first FOV, the scene including an object (104). A size of a video stream of at least one portion of an object is estimated. A first edge filtered version of the video stream is provided to ensure privacy of the object as long as the estimated size is above a first threshold and below a second threshold. In response to the estimated magnitude being above a second threshold indicating that privacy is at risk of disclosure, entering an enhanced security privacy mode of operation, including generating an alert to prompt an installer to reinstall the camera at a second FOV different from the first FOV, and inhibiting provision of a first edge filtered version of the video stream.
