Problems solved by technology

[0012] Therefore, in the past, the two addresses of Address1 and Address2 are used to detect the addresses of the land and the groove, but it is redundant to form two addresses on the optical disc in advance, and the data recording density of the optical disc is thus reduced.
Also, if two addresses are used, only the address of one of them is used in the above-mentioned conventional technology, and redundant addresses are not effectively utilized

Embodiment Construction

[0063] Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.

[0064] FIG. 1 is a diagram showing the overall structure of an optical disc device of this embodiment. The optical disc 10 is driven to rotate by a spindle motor (SPM) 12 . The spindle motor SPM12 is driven by the driver 14, and the servo processor 30 performs servo control of the driver 14 so that the rotation speed becomes a desired one. In this embodiment, for example, the driver 14 divides the optical disc 10 into multiple zones from the inner circle to the outer circle, and drives each zone to a constant angular velocity (ZCAV).

[0065] The optical pick-up head 16 and the optical disc 10 are disposed opposite to each other, including a laser diode (LD) for irradiating laser light to the optical disc 10 or a photodetector (PD) for receiving reflected light from the optical disc 10 and converting it into an electrical signal. A screw motor 18 is used to drive the ...

Abstract

A high-definition optical disk and a high-definition optical disk drive, which record data on lands and grooves. Wobbles are formed in grooves and lands of an optical disk, and address information is embedded in the wobbles. The wobbles are formed so as to become in phase with each other in the grooves. An address of the land sandwiched between the grooves is detected from the wobble of the groove. When the wobble of the land is not an in-phase wobble but is of opposite phase, a gray code of the wobble is substituted with a binary address such that 0 is achieved when the gray code is converted into the binary address. As a result, even in the case of the wobble of opposite phase, the address information about the land is made coincident with address information about an inner-radius-side adjacent groove, thereby determining address information about the land.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to an optical disc and an optical disc device, in particular to a high-density optical disc and a high-density optical disc device which use grooves and lands to record / play data. Background technique [0002] Conventionally, an optical disc that achieves high recording density by recording data not only on grooves but also on both grooves and lands has been known. On the other hand, in the case of recording data in both grooves and lands, correct detection addresses are required in both grooves and lands. In DVD-RAM, according to the method called CAPA (Complementary Allocated Pit Address, Complementary Allocated Pit Address), after inserting a special signal independently in time in each sector and data recording, the address is detected by playing the signal . Specifically, there is an address area (header section) independent of the data area at the head of each area, and a plurality of CAPA signals are inserted in t...
