Abstract

A centralized managing method for the exchange equipment of local area network uses the exchange equipment to broadcast the requesting registration message including the position identification of the exchange equipment to the port of connecting managing equipment first. The registration operation is carried on after the managing equipment receives the message and sends the registration response message back. The handshaking message is sent to the managing equipment in the fixed time after the message of successful registration is received by the exchange equipment, and the managing equipmentsends the handshaking message back so that the handshaking operation of the two are finished. The registration course should be restarted if the handshaking message is not received by the exchange equipment for a certain time.
