Embodiment Construction

[0024] see Figures 1 to 4 , In a first embodiment, the present invention proposes a lawn grooming apparatus 10 having an underframe 11 supported by a pair of front wheels 12 and a pair of rear wheels or rollers 16 . The chassis 11 also includes a cylindrical member housing or working chamber 13 within which a cylindrical member 14 is mounted. The cylindrical member 14 is moved along a horizontal axis in a conventional manner, for example by means of an electric motor or gasoline engine (not shown). image 3 Turn in the direction indicated by the middle arrow A. The cylindrical member 14 is driven by said motor or motor via a suitable gear or belt drive mechanism, which acts on the cylindrical member 14 via a drive member 15 . The arms are suitably connected to the chassis or sides of the body housing to form a generally U-shaped handle for guiding the device.

[0025] Suitably, the height of the rotatable cylindrical member 14 can be adjusted by adjusting the height of the...

Abstract

The present invention relates to a lawn care device, in particular to a lawn raking or verticutting apparatus. We describe a lawn care apparatus comprising cylinder member (14) rotatable about a transverse axis' wherein said cylinder member (14) comprises a plurality of lawn care elements and a collection means for collecting material removed, in use, from a lawn; characterised in that the cylinder member (14) is in the form of a fan defining an airflow generating means for generating an air flow to direct material removed from the lawn towards said collection means.

Description

technical field [0001] This invention relates to lawn finishing equipment and, more particularly, to lawn raking or verticut equipment. Background technique [0002] As part of regular maintenance, lawns should be aerated to improve drainage and help supply air to the soil. This results in improved turf appearance due to increased water uptake through improved water and air supply to the grass roots. Typically, aerating the lawn is accomplished by removing moss and dead grass with a hand lawn rake and raking the lawn into peaks to help improve drainage and air flow to the grass roots. A conventional lawn rake includes an elongated shaft with a head that includes a plurality of tines arranged in a fan shape, and the ends of the plurality of tines are bent at an angle generally perpendicular to the fan shape. The rake is used by dragging the head of the rake across a lawn. Due to the design of the tines and the rake head, moss and dead grass are selectively removed while mi...
