Abstract

Reset, address, and sustain operations of a plasma display device are performed by applying a driving waveform to a scan electrode while biasing a sustain electrode at a ground voltage allowing a driving board for driving the sustain board to be eliminated. Since a low voltage is applied to the scan electrode while biasing the sustain electrode at the ground voltage during the reset period, a potential formed by a wall charge may be greater at the scan electrode than at the address electrode. In addition, a misfiring discharge may be prevented during the sustain period when a low voltage applied to the scan electrode during the sustain period is set to be greater than the scan voltage of a scan pulse applied to the scan electrode during the address period.
