[0013]It is the principle object of this invention to provide for a Deployable barrier / apparatus / mat / cushion that will provide wear protection / barrier to a boats Keel when landing upon the shoreline of a water-body. The Deployable Keel / Bow Mat is comprised of a durable, low friction flexible material that varies in size (Colour and composition) dependent upon the boat size and construction. The mat portion of the invention may also include varied geometries, materials and construction that maximizes keel protection as well as the effectiveness of deployment. The invention is an apparatus consisting of a durable, low friction flexible material that can be easily deployed when landing a boat onto the shoreline of a water-body. The invention when deployed provides a barrier / cushion / mat between the keel of the boat and the sandy / rocky shoreline thereby protecting the boat keel from damage and wear.The apparatus may include a model that can be permanently mounted to the bow area of a boat or can be a stowable model that can be easily deployed by the boat operator.
