Texas hold 'em (also known as Texas holdem, hold 'em, and holdem) is a variation of the card game of poker. Two cards, known as hole cards, are dealt face down to each player, and then five community cards are dealt face up in three stages. The stages consist of a series of three cards ("the flop"), later an additional single card ("the turn" or "fourth street"), and a final card ("the river" or "fifth street"). Each player seeks the best five card poker hand from any combination of the seven cards of the five community cards and their two hole cards. Players have betting options to check, call, raise, or fold. Rounds of betting take place before the flop is dealt and after each subsequent deal. The player who has the best hand and has not folded by the end of all betting rounds wins all of the money bet for the hand, known as the pot.

The embodiments of the present invention provide a method of playing community card games, in table games format and or electronic, video, slot machines for casinos. According to an embodiment of the present invention, one or more players place an initial wager and a dealer / electronic, video, and or slot machine deals at least one card(s) to the players and at least one card(s) to the dealer. The players and dealer then inspect their at least one card(s) and decide to keep them or draw at least one new card to hopefully form a better at least one card(s). If a decision of a draw is made for an at least one new card, the amount of cards that are drawn, you must have that equal amount(s) of card(s) discarded. After the draw option is complete, at least two sets of community card(s) are dealt. Each set of community card(s) has at least one card. The sets of community card(s) will be named “A” SET, “B” SET, and “C” SET etc. Players have to bet on at least one of the set(s) of community card(s) of either A, B, or C etc. Each set of community card(s) will be used in conjunction with each of the players' and or dealer's at least one card, to form the best possible predetermined poker hand, for each. The players' wagers are then resolved by evaluating the players' hands and the dealer's hand in comparison of the best hand of a predetermined fashion, and or the resolution of wagers played against a predetermined pay scale. Various modifications to the first embodiment of the present invention are set forth herein. This method of playing a poker style game, may be used in Texas Hold'Em, Omaha, and 7 Card Stud, 5 Card Stud, Omaha Eight or Better (High-Lo Split), Razz, or any poker game using community cards. The number of cards in each set may change and the number of sets for each game may change. The player may choose to bet one set of cards (A) and choose a specific set (B) for the dealer to have to use to complete the dealer hand. These features are new, novel and non-obvious, instead of the old way of only one flop, turn and river, and also the new feature of replacing the hole cards.

A method of playing an improved version of Texas Hold'em poker is disclosed which includes providing any player the opportunity prior to the exposure of the fifth community or river card to declare that such player is ahead in the hand (has the best poker hand) among the other players still in the hand at the time of declaration and guaranteeing any player who correctly makes such a declaration a portion of the pot regardless of whether the player has the best poker hand at the conclusion of the hand. This improved method allows players to protect themselves against and reduce the magnitude and frequency of bad beats inflicted by the extremely large number of inexperienced players that dominate Texas Hold'em poker.

Casino card game

More specifically, unlike Texas Hold 'Em (where there is a final river card dealt face up and considered a community card), in the new card game each player is dealt his own individual “river card” in a face down fashion. Accordingly, there are only four community cards (three in “the flop” and one on “the turn”) and each player has three individual cards (two draw cards and their own individual river card). Additionally, the game is played with a shorted deck of cards wherein all 2's, 3's, 4's and 5's have been removed (i.e. only 36 cards).

Texas Hold'em with Additional Features

Texas Hold'em is played between human and virtual machine players on electronic equipment. The virtual players fold up and the human does not. This allows the human to see the hold cards of the opponents and adds excitement to the game. Optionally, the human player gets a bonus for having a good hand regardless of who wins the pot. The bonus also adds excitement and interest. Perferably the virtual players have personalities. By creating a minimum number of personalities and changing personalities with players, user interest is maintained. In particular, adding these features to a Texas hold'em game with fold up procedure for virtual opponents increases user excitement.

System and Method for Generating, Funding, and Distributing Multiple Jackpots

A method and system of generating, funding, and distributing multiple jackpots in a game such as poker, specifically such as Texas Hold 'Em. The jackpots may be separate, independent bad beat jackpots that pay out at different intervals due to having independent triggering conditions that have different odds of occurring. Preferably, the triggering condition for each jackpot may be a losing player's hand strength. The specific values for the triggering conditions may be chosen by random, may be generally evenly distributed over the number of jackpots, may be determined by an algorithm, e.g., one that relies on the odds of each hand occurring, or by another method. The jackpots may be funded from rakes collected from substantially every hand that is played—subject to certain prerequisites being established—such that each jackpot may be considered progressive in that it grows over time.

Network based card game of skill

A card game of skill is a network based board game played through an interface with two or more players. The card game of skill may have the same basic rules with regards to winning hands and community cards as Texas Hold'em. Each player in has two hole cards for each hand. Rather than being dealt at random from a deck, the hole cards for each player are selected by the player from a set cards assigned to the player. A master dealer deck may also be maintained during game play and is used to provide community cards. When each player selects their hold cards, the selected hole cards are removed from a master dealer deck. Hence, cards selected by a player as hole cards will not appear as the community cards provided by a dealer for all players to see and use as part of their hand.

Texas Dinero Poker Game

A poker game played with a standard 52-card deck, in which each player is provided with one individual card, in addition to six community cards. Each player can form a hand from his single pocket card and any of the community cards, or can form a hand from only the community cards. The six community cards are dealt in the sequence three cards, two cards, and one card, which does not make available to a player a full hand of five cards until after the second round of betting. Additionally, the increased proportion of community cards makes hands which split the pot more likely. The features of this game combine to increase the length of time players stay in each hand and correspondingly increase pot size. When played at a casino with a rake base on a percentage of the pot, the increased pot size also increases the casino's take.

Apparatus and method for playing cards with a unique betting format

A method and apparatus for playing a poker game with a unique betting format is disclosed. The card game is somewhat similar to traditional games of poker and, more specifically, to Hold 'Em poker. The unique gameplay disclosed herein allows for two specific variations on the traditional gameplay associated with standard Hold 'Em. First, one variation of the present invention will incorporate one or more “wild cards” into the game, typically in the form of jokers. These additional cards, when added to the standard 52 card deck of playing cards, can be used to represent any other card in the deck. A second variation of the present invention incorporates at least one additional round of betting into the gameplay. In this version, after the betting on the “river” card has occurred, the next player in turn to bet can choose to “check” or initiate another round of betting. However, if the player wishes to initiate another round of betting, that player must also expose one of their hole cards by turning it face up on the table. Each of the remaining players can then choose to “call” the bet, “raise” the bet, or fold. However, if the other players choose to remain in the game by initiating a bet, or by calling or raising a previous bet, then they must also expose one of their hole cards as well. The initial player and each of the subsequent players may all simply elect to “check” and not initiate a new round of betting which will allow the game to conclude in a fashion similar to standard Hold 'Em. Finally, the use of jokers and the additional round of betting may be incorporated into a single preferred embodiment of the present invention.
