Texas hold 'em (also known as Texas holdem, hold 'em, and holdem) is a variation of the card game of poker. Two cards, known as hole cards, are dealt face down to each player, and then five community cards are dealt face up in three stages. The stages consist of a series of three cards ("the flop"), later an additional single card ("the turn" or "fourth street"), and a final card ("the river" or "fifth street"). Each player seeks the best five card poker hand from any combination of the seven cards of the five community cards and their two hole cards. Players have betting options to check, call, raise, or fold. Rounds of betting take place before the flop is dealt and after each subsequent deal. The player who has the best hand and has not folded by the end of all betting rounds wins all of the money bet for the hand, known as the pot.

Method of playing community card games

The embodiments of the present invention provide a method of playing community card games, in table games format and or electronic, video, slot machines for casinos. According to an embodiment of the present invention, one or more players place an initial wager and a dealer/electronic, video, and or slot machine deals at least one card(s) to the players and at least one card(s) to the dealer. The players and dealer then inspect their at least one card(s) and decide to keep them or draw at least one new card to hopefully form a better at least one card(s). If a decision of a draw is made for an at least one new card, the amount of cards that are drawn, you must have that equal amount(s) of card(s) discarded. After the draw option is complete, at least two sets of community card(s) are dealt. Each set of community card(s) has at least one card. The sets of community card(s) will be named “A” SET, “B” SET, and “C” SET etc. Players have to bet on at least one of the set(s) of community card(s) of either A, B, or C etc. Each set of community card(s) will be used in conjunction with each of the players' and or dealer's at least one card, to form the best possible predetermined poker hand, for each. The players' wagers are then resolved by evaluating the players' hands and the dealer's hand in comparison of the best hand of a predetermined fashion, and or the resolution of wagers played against a predetermined pay scale. Various modifications to the first embodiment of the present invention are set forth herein. This method of playing a poker style game, may be used in Texas Hold'Em, Omaha, and 7 Card Stud, 5 Card Stud, Omaha Eight or Better (High-Lo Split), Razz, or any poker game using community cards. The number of cards in each set may change and the number of sets for each game may change. The player may choose to bet one set of cards (A) and choose a specific set (B) for the dealer to have to use to complete the dealer hand. These features are new, novel and non-obvious, instead of the old way of only one flop, turn and river, and also the new feature of replacing the hole cards.

Apparatus and method for playing cards with a unique betting format

A method and apparatus for playing a poker game with a unique betting format is disclosed. The card game is somewhat similar to traditional games of poker and, more specifically, to Hold 'Em poker. The unique gameplay disclosed herein allows for two specific variations on the traditional gameplay associated with standard Hold 'Em. First, one variation of the present invention will incorporate one or more “wild cards” into the game, typically in the form of jokers. These additional cards, when added to the standard 52 card deck of playing cards, can be used to represent any other card in the deck. A second variation of the present invention incorporates at least one additional round of betting into the gameplay. In this version, after the betting on the “river” card has occurred, the next player in turn to bet can choose to “check” or initiate another round of betting. However, if the player wishes to initiate another round of betting, that player must also expose one of their hole cards by turning it face up on the table. Each of the remaining players can then choose to “call” the bet, “raise” the bet, or fold. However, if the other players choose to remain in the game by initiating a bet, or by calling or raising a previous bet, then they must also expose one of their hole cards as well. The initial player and each of the subsequent players may all simply elect to “check” and not initiate a new round of betting which will allow the game to conclude in a fashion similar to standard Hold 'Em. Finally, the use of jokers and the additional round of betting may be incorporated into a single preferred embodiment of the present invention.
