Embodiment Construction

[0025] The invention preferably pertains to computer hardware and software applications that facilitate the manufacture of formed package packages. The present invention may enable parties such as designers who manufacture machine-readable barcodes and other graphic images, typically formatted as ADOBEPOSTSCRIPT files, to easily lay out form-pack package designs. The layouts include a graphic image of a barcode and a human readable portion of at least one individual formed package unit 10 that can be printed in a formed package packaging sheet.

[0026] The present invention automates many of the tedious, repetitive tasks that require graphic designers to perform in prior art form-pack packaging systems. By using the modules associated with the present invention, the graphic designer no longer has to manually calculate the coordinates of each individual formed packaging unit 10 for receiving barcode graphics. Furthermore, the present invention relieves the designer from the t...

Abstract

The present invention discloses a system and method for forming a barcode image on a formed packaging package. More specifically, a designer or other party responsible for providing a barcode image on a formed package package uses the present invention to determine a template for a formed package package and to provide at least one formed package package to be placed in the formed package package One-person readable information and a barcode on the unit. Indicia of formed package packages can be formed using the present invention, wherein at least one formed package unit has a barcode on it. The form-pack package is formed at least in part using the present invention.

Description

[0001] CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS [0002] This invention is based on U.S. Provisional Patent Application No. 60 / 392,060, filed June 25, 2002, entitled "SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR BAR CODING BLISTERPACK PACKAGING," entitled "SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR BAR CODING BLISTERPACK PACKAGING," and claims priority over this Provisional Patent Application, which is hereby incorporated by reference in its entirety. technical field [0003] The present invention relates to bar codes, and more particularly, to forming bar codes on formed packaging packages. Background technique [0004] Most medicines in the form of single-dose tablets are sold in shaped packs. Form-pack packages typically include a vacuum molded cover over a flat pad that is effective for maintaining the shelf life of the contents (eg, single dose medication). Proper sealing of the form-pack enclosure prevents tampering with the contents, and the form-pack enclosure itself provides child safety. [0005] Referrin...
