Embodiment Construction

[0036] In order to make the object, technical solution and advantages of the present invention clearer, the present invention will be described in detail below in conjunction with specific embodiments.

[0037] Bidirectional Forwarding Detection (BFD) is a set of international standard protocols for fast detection, which can detect faults on any type of channel between systems. The channels between the systems include: direct physical links, virtual circuits, tunnels, multi-protocol label switching paths (MPLS LSPs), and indirect channels. BDF sends BFD query messages to each other regularly and quickly between two nodes, and detects at the receiving end. If no BFD query messages are received within three agreed periods, it is judged as a disconnection. BFD can focus on fast detection of forwarding faults and help the network achieve good multicast service transmission. The embodiment of the present invention provides a method and system for protecting a multicast forwarding ...

Abstract

Using bidirectional forwarding detection (BFD) technique detects state of virtual private local service (VPLS) network. If fault occurs in VPLS network, then, the method sets up service route (SR) in standby mode as main use state; and SR in main use state sends out service data. After network fault is recovered, the method sets up SR in low priority as standby mode, stopping sending service data in order to reduce time of interrupted multicast service caused by network fault in large degree. Further, quick testing is carried out for two pieces of unidirectional label switching path (LSP) of VPLS data link. When fault occurs in one directional LSP, the method stops transferring service data of other directional LSP in order to prevent abnormal service of edge router from occurring.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to the field of multicast technology, in particular to a method and system for protecting a multicast forwarding path in a Virtual Private LAN Service (VPLS, Virtual Private LAN Service) network and a service router. Background technique [0002] Multicast technology effectively solves the problem of single-point transmission and multi-point reception, and realizes efficient point-to-multipoint data transmission in the Internet Protocol (IP, Internet Protocol) network, which can greatly save network bandwidth and reduce network load. The multicast feature conveniently provides some value-added services, including online live broadcast, IP TV, distance education, telemedicine, real-time video conferencing and other information service fields. [0003] Now, with the rapid development of IP TV services in the MAN, the application of multicast technology in the MAN has become more and more important. The requirements for multicast te...
