The invention relates to a method and a device for the off-line notification of the customer premise equipment; wherein, the method comprises: extending the related parameters of CPE of the customer premise equipment and increasing the off-line notification mechanism; utilizing the extended parameters to actively send the off-line notification before the CPE is ready for off-line. The device comprises: a parameter extending module used to extend the related parameters of CPE and increase the off-line notification mechanism, and an off-line notification module used to utilize the related parameters of CPE extended by the parameter extending module to actively send off-line notification before the CPE is ready for off-line.
