Affixing Method of Rfid Label and its Affixing Apparatus

A display label, having a display section on a surface thereof and an adhesive surface on a back surface thereof, and an IC tag, provided with an antenna coil and an IC chip so as to transmit information through non-contact communication, are prepared. After writing information on the IC chip, reading test is applied, so as to separate non-defective ID tags and defective ID tags. After printing addition display on the surface of the display label, a non-defective ID tag is adhered on an adhesive surface thereof, so as to form an RFID label. Then the RFID label is affixed to an object-to-affix such as a container. An affixing method of an RFID label and its affixing method are provided, wherein an ID tag is less likely to be damaged, since the ID tag is not adhered on a display label while printing additional display.

Fast reroute (FRR) protection at the edge of a RFC 2547 network

A fast reroute (FRR) technique that may be deployed at the edge of a network having first and second edge devices coupled to a neighboring routing domain. If the first edge device detects a node or link failure that prevents it from communicating with the neighboring domain, the first edge device reroutes at least some data packets addressed to the neighboring domain to the second edge device. The second edge device receives the rerouted packets and then forwards the packets to the neighboring domain. Notably, the second edge device is not permitted to reroute the received packets a second time, e.g., upon identifying another inter-domain node or link failure. As such, loops are avoided at the edge of the network and packets are rerouted to the neighboring routing domain faster and more efficiently than in prior implementations.

Method and system for determining a risk of ulcer onset

A system for determining a risk of pressure ulcer onset on a subject being in contact with a supporting-surface, the system comprising: an arrangement of sensors, located at predetermined locations between the supporting-surface and the subject; and a data processor for receiving and processing data sensed by the sensors; the sensors and the data processor being designed and programmed for determining the risk of pressure ulcer onset on the subject being in contact with the supporting-surface.

Bi-layer hard mask for the patterning and etching of nanometer size MRAM devices

A composite hard mask is disclosed that prevents build up of metal etch residue in a MRAM device during etch processes that define an MTJ shape. As a result, MTJ shape integrity is substantially improved. The hard mask has a lower non-magnetic spacer, a middle conductive layer, and an upper sacrificial dielectric layer. The non-magnetic spacer serves as an etch stop during a pattern transfer with fluorocarbon plasma through the conductive layer. A photoresist pattern is transferred through the dielectric layer with a first fluorocarbon etch. Then the photoresist is removed and a second fluorocarbon etch transfers the pattern through the conductive layer. The dielectric layer protects the top surface of the conductive layer during the second fluorocarbon etch and during a substantial portion of a third RIE step with a gas comprised of C, H, and O that transfers the pattern through the underlying MTJ layers.

Artificial muscle actuator assembly

A flexible actuator assembly (20) including a flexible bladder device (22) having an expandable sealed chamber (23) adapted to substantially directionally displace between a deflated condition and an inflated condition, displacing a proximal portion (25) of the bladder device (22) away from a distal portion (26) thereof. An elongated tendon member (27) includes a distal portion (28) oriented outside the chamber (23), while an anchor portion (30) extends into the chamber (23) through a distal opening (31) in the bladder device (22). The tendon anchor portion (30) is further coupled proximate to the bladder proximal portion (25) in a manner adapted to: selectively invert displaceable portions (32) of the bladder device (22) when urged toward the deflated condition to position the anchor portion (30) and the bladder proximal portion (25) relatively closer to the bladder distal portion (26); and selectively evert the inverted displaceable portions (32) of the bladder device (22) when displaced toward the inflated condition which positions the anchor portion (30) and the bladder proximal portion (25) relatively farther away from the bladder distal portion (26) for selective movement of the tendon distal portion (28) between an extended condition and a retracted condition, respectively.

Toothbrush head with anchor-free bristle tufting

The invention is directed to a brush head, in particular a toothbrush head, having a bristle carrier and bristles attached thereto, which are seated in the form of tufts in holes in the bristle carrier and fastened by their ends close to the bristle carrier to the bristle carrier without anchoring, in particular by welding and / or adhesive bonding to a rear side of the bristle carrier using the method referred to as anchor-free tufting. According to the invention, at least one hole (2) in the bristle carrier (1) is divided by means of at least one transverse wall (4) into several segments and said at least one transverse wall is constructed such that the bristles seated in the segments form a common tuft (3) with a smooth and closed outer contour corresponding to the contour of the hole and are supported by the transverse wall.

SOI semiconductor integrated circuit for eliminating floating body effects in SOI MOSFETs and method of fabricating the same

A silicon-on-insulator (SOD integrated circuit and a method of fabricating the SOI integrated circuit are provided. At least one isolated transistor active region and a body line are formed on an SOI substrate. The transistor active region and the body line are surrounded by an isolation layer which is in contact with a buried insulating layer of the SOI substrate. A portion of the sidewall of the transistor active region is extended to the body line. Thus, the transistor active region is electrically connected to the body line through a body extension. The body extension is covered with a body insulating layer. An insulated gate pattern is formed over the transistor active region, and one end of the gate pattern is overlapped with the body insulating layer.
