The invention discloses an adaptor for realizing multi-protocol interconnection and intercommunication between digital household apparatus, comprising a GDHomeICP basic protocol module for accomplishing the control for apparatus and messages, and a multi-protocol analyzing processing module for analyzing message formats and processing message contents; the GDHomeICP basic protocol module is connected with a sending part apparatus and a receiving part apparatus via an universal interface; the GDHomeICP basic protocol module and the multi-protocol analyzing processing module are interconnected for communication via a predefined software interface. The invention also discloses a method for realizing multi-protocol interconnection and intercommunication between digital household apparatus. The invention enables the apparatus based on diverse protocols to be able to find, control and communicate with each other, thus realizing interconnection and intercommunication, resource sharing and interoperation between the apparatus based on diverse protocols, and diversifying the digital household apparatus without limitation of the protocol to which the apparatus belong.
