A method and a system for cleaning an automatically-cleanable central air-conditioner surface cooler are disclosed, comprising an intelligent control unit which is connected with and controls a detergent supply valve, a clear water valve, a cleaning solution valve, a high pressure water pump and a motor; and further comprising a shower liquid container which is provided above the surface cooler and is connected with a detergent blending container via the cleaning solution valve; a spray nozzle assembly is provided opposite to the surface cooler, a waste water container is provided at the bottom of the surface cooler, the shower liquid container is provided with more than one container micropores, the spray nozzle assembly is provided with more than one spray nozzles in a direction toward the surface cooler, and the spray nozzle assembly is driven by the motor. The inventive cleaning device is integrated with the surface cooler in design, compact in structure, perfect in system, easy in manufacturing, low in cost, convenient in installation, simple in cleaning processes, high in cleaning efficiency and small in impacting on environment; and the invention can prevent the propagation of bacteria on the surface cooler, reduce energy consumption of the central air conditioner and save the operation and maintenance costs.
