Abstract

The invention provides a method for rapidly identifying sex of embryonic-period mice. The method comprises the following steps: placing a fetal rat in the embryonic period of 14.5 to 16 days under a stereoscope; observing a fourth and fifth pair of breasts of the fetal rat; and judging the fetal rat to be male if breast primordia appear to be white round points or judging the fetal rat to be female if the breast primordia appear to be round halos fuzzy in skin boundary. PCR verification shows that the method is reliable to judge the sex of the fetal rat through the appearance of the breast primordial, and the accuracy of the method can be up to 100 percent particularly in the embryonic period of 15 to 16 days. The method has the advantages of providing scientific research personnel with great convenience, greatly improving experiment efficiency, ensuring experiment accuracy and saving manpower and material resources.
