The method comprises the following steps of: configuring a proxy mode for processing the MPLS message for the single board which does not support the MPLS; and when the single board not supporting the MPLS receives the MPLS message, forwarding the MPLS message to a corresponding single board supporting the MPLS for processing according to the proxy mode configured to the single board. By using the device and the method, the single board not supporting the MPLS can realize the forwarding of the message based on the MPLS so as to improve the utilization ratio of the single board resource.
