Problems solved by technology

If there are a large number of MTC terminals that successfully access the group at the same time, these MTC terminals will send NAS signaling to the core network at the same time, which will inevitably cause the core network to process a large amount of NAS signaling at a certain moment, which may lead to overload
[0011] To sum up, the access control performed on MTC terminals according to the existing technology cannot reduce the signaling impact of MTC terminals on the network side at all, and will cause a surge in network load in a short period of time.
Therefore, the existing access control method is not suitable for the situation where multiple MTC terminals are connected to the network at the same time, and cannot perform effective access control on the MTC terminals, which has great limitations.

Embodiment Construction

[0078] In the present invention, the network element of the core network provides access control parameters to the base station, and the base station performs access control on the MTC terminal according to the access control parameters.

[0079] Specifically, the access control parameter provided by the core network element to the base station may be the access control factor determined by the core network element, or the number of MTC terminals, or the prohibited access parameter determined by the core network element. The time (barring time) may also be a combination of an access control factor and a barring time or a combination of the number of MTC terminals and the barring time. The network element of the core network delivers the access control parameters to the base station through S1 interface signaling.

[0080] Wherein, the access control factor is information such as the number of MTC terminals in a certain group obtained by the core network element or information ...

Abstract

The invention discloses a method and system for controlling accesses of machine type communication (MTC) devices. The method comprises the following steps that: a core element provides access control parameters to an eNodeB; and the eNodeB controls accesses of the MTC devices according to the access control parameters. The method and the system have the following beneficial effects: the access control scheme aiming at the MTC devices in the packet or zone is provided; and the core element and the eNodeB participate in implementing access control on the MTC devices and can further implement the two-step access control method to effectively control accesses of the MTC devices so as to reduce signaling impact of the MTC devices on the network side, thus effectively avoiding network overload due to that lots of MTC devices are simultaneously accessed to the network and providing effective guarantees for stability and security of the network.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to the communication field, in particular to an access control method and system for an MTC terminal in a Machine Type Communication (MTC, Machine Type Communication) framework. Background technique [0002] Machine-to-machine communication (M2M, Machine to Machine (Communication)) is a concept proposed in the 1990s and is an important driving force for the development of communication technology. Simply put, M2M is the Internet of machines, and the means of realization include various networking technologies. The goal of M2M technology is to enable all machines and equipment to have networking and communication capabilities, and its core concept is Network Everything. [0003] The communication object of M2M is machine equipment to machine equipment or human to machine equipment. Data communication between one or more machine devices is defined as MTC, where less human interaction is required. A machine device particip...
