Embodiment 1

[0021] Example 1: Gloves with chemical resistance and mechanical resistance were manufactured according to the following process. Wash and dry porcelain molds. The mold is then dipped into a calcium nitrate coagulant solution. Hold in this solution for approximately 15 seconds. The mold was then pulled out of the solution and allowed to dry at room temperature. Next, the coated mold is dipped into a mixture of polyurethane and nitrile, which also has color pigments dispersed therein. The dwell time is about 30 seconds. The mold was then pulled out and allowed to dry for about 14 minutes. Next, the mold is dipped into a polyvinyl alcohol solution. The residence time is about 1 minute. The mold was then removed from the solution, allowed to dry at about 65°C for about 17 minutes, and then cooled at room temperature for about 8 minutes. The coated mold was then dipped twice into a mixture of polyurethane and nitrile. The dwell time is 0 seconds. Each dip had a drying tim...

Abstract

A flexible, form-fitting glove having improved water and chemical permeation resistance and a method of manufacture. The glove is multi-layered and formed utilizing a standard dip line.

Description

[0001] Cross References to Related Applications [0002] This application claims priority and benefit of the filing date of US Provisional Patent Application Serial No. 61 / 363,871, filed July 13, 2010, which is hereby incorporated by reference. technical field [0003] This application relates to waterproof and chemical resistant gloves. More specifically, the present application relates to soft, responsive, waterproof and chemical resistant gloves manufactured using a dipping line process. Background technique [0004] While many types of chemical resistant gloves are available, most suffer from the disadvantage of being uncomfortable for the wearer due to the presence of stiff, inflexible materials. [0005] Previously, to obtain the necessary chemical resistance and water resistance, various films impermeable to certain chemical agents and water were laminated or heat sealed together to form gloves. These gloves are generally insensitive and stiff, which makes hand move...
