Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for selecting a version of a document. The user supplies a document identifier at the receiver thereof connected to at least one communication network, and initiates a search request for receiving versions of at least a portion of said document. The receiver then receives a plurality of versions of said document. Each received version is analyzed by a plurality of evaluation modules in order to calculate an evaluation value of each received version according to a predetermined criterion. The receiver selects for each of the evaluation modules a version of the document having the best evaluation for that criterion, and displays identifiers of the versions having the best evaluations according to each criterion. The user can then easily select the version that best matches the criterion for reproducing the same. The invention also relates to a receiver for implementing said method.
