Abstract

Novel cleaning implements and novel components of cleaning implements are provided. Aspects relate to novel wringers (18) having convex regions with a plurality of drain exits (35). In some embodiments, concave regions (1634-1640) are also provided. The concave regions (1634-1640) are substantially devoid of any drain exits. An upper portion of the wringer (18) may be substantially cylindrical or conic-cylindrical and a lower portion may be neither cylindrical nor conic-cylindrical. The bottom perimeter of the bottom may define a square-like shape. Further aspects relate to novel connection assemblies (50). Certain assemblies (50) may have a top portion with a vertical wall that is configured to position mop fibres (14) along a vertical axis.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a cleaning tool and cleaning tool components, more specifically to a mop and a wringer. Background technique [0002] A commercially successful type of mop is that marketed with a wringer cup, as disclosed in US Pat. No. 5,060,338. Other examples can be found in US Patent Nos. 1,709,622, 3,364,512, 3,946,457 and 4,809,287 and German Published Patent Application No. DE 3607121 A1. [0003] The wringer cups used on these mops usually have grooves or ribs on the inside. The ribs help force water out of the mop fibers as the conical wringer cups push down on the mop fibers. However, squeezing water is not always completely effective. Some of the water that has been squeezed out of the mop fibers can sometimes re-enter the fibers before it is completely drained from the wringer cup. Certain existing wringers and / or connection assemblies allow the mop fibers to tangle or twist underneath other areas where fluid remains, t...
