A broadband modem media access control (MAC) address distribution method comprises the steps of supposing that six-byte MAC addresses of a broadband modem are respectively A [0], A [1], A [2], A [3], A [4], and A [5] from top to bottom; selecting one from the A [3], A [4], and A [5] as an MAC address variable position; sequentially adding or subtracting one digit number to or from the MAC address variable position so as to enable the MAC address variable position to become a plurality of different MAC address variable positions; and combining the different MAC address variable positions with other MAC address positions so as to form new MAC addresses. By adoption of the method, various wide area networks (WANs) or wireless interfaces use different MAC addresses so that distinguishing various interfaces in software is enabled to be easier, and performance of a system is improved.
