Abstract

A thin-film solar cell and its forming process. A solar cell includes a bottom electrode layer, a semiconductor light absorbing layer, a top electrode layer, and a protective moisture barrier. In some embodiments, the moisture barrier is formed from a material that is less reactive with water. The moisture barrier helps protect the top electrode layer from exposure and damage caused by water and oxygen. The present invention provides methods for forming solar cells.
