Problems solved by technology

[0005] Also, for example, when a user wishes to modify content that has been uploaded to multiple CPWs, the tasks involved in producing the desired modification at different CPWs may be difficult to perform given the different characteristics or requirements of the different CPWs
where performing actions on uploaded content may be complicated by the fact that one CPW may or may not support the same actions as another CPW, such that a user attempting to cause such an action needs to remember which CPW supports the action in question
[0006] Also, for example, when a user's mobile device (and thus the user) communicates with multiple CPWs, it may become difficult for the user to discern the different communications occurring with respect to the multiple CPWs, for example, when other users provide messages to multiple CPWs may happen

Embodiment Construction

[0016] refer to figure 1 , showing a block diagram of an example communication system 100 in simplified schematic form. As shown, in this embodiment, the communication system 100 includes three mobile devices 102, the first of which 103 is shown communicating via a communication link 105 with a server, in this embodiment a web server 104 (e.g. , a server that supports the Internet Protocol or is otherwise capable of interacting with the Internet or the World Wide Web). Mobile devices 102 respectively represent communication devices operated by humans (or users) or by other entities (eg, other computers) that desire or require communication capabilities. In some embodiments, for example, mobile device 102 may be a cellular telephone, personal digital assistant (PDA), smartphone, other handheld or portable electronic device, headset, MP3 player, battery-powered device, wearable device, Radios, navigation aids, laptop or notebook computers, netbooks, pagers, PMPs (personal medi...

Abstract

A method and system for facilitating communication between an electronic device (102) such as a mobile device and a plurality of content provider websites (106) is provided. In one embodiment, the method includes receiving at a server (104) a first message regarding either uploading of a first portion of information to the content provider websites (106) or, if the first portion is already available at the websites, modifying of the first portion, where the first message is a user instruction that includes a second portion of information identifying the websites. The method additionally includes sending a plurality of second messages, respectively, from the server (104) for receipt by the websites, respectively, where each respective one of the second messages includes one or more of the first portion and a respective third portion of information concerning a respective modification. The method can additionally include one or more additional steps, and the system can include the server (104) or the electronic device (102).

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to communications regarding electronic devices, and more particularly, to communications between such devices and content provider websites. Background technique [0002] A content provider website (CPW) is an interactive website that allows downloading and / or uploading (eg, posting) of various forms of information, data (which may generally be considered "content"). CPW includes various types of websites including, for example, social networking websites (SNW), news feeds, music and photo websites, and other types of websites, such as business-to-business (b2b) or business-to-customer (b2c) websites. The form of content that may be downloaded from and / or uploaded to the CPW is wide-ranging and may include, for example, news, weather, personal and / or business information, pictures, videos, songs, and the like. [0003] Delivery of content via CPW can be used for various purposes. Among other things, uploading content to ...
