Abstract

An apparatus including a plurality of liquid extraction devices (114) positioned radially on a floor-facing surface of a rotary head (300), a driveshaft disposed between a rotary motor (104) configured to rotate the rotary head, and a housing (102) disposed between the rotary motor and the rotary head for supporting a wheel (110) and a handle (112). The apparatus also includes an evacuation tank (108) having a capacity sensor in communication with an evacuation pump (109), the capacity sensor configured to detect when a maximum desired capacity of evacuated liquids is reached, a vacuum motor (106) connected with the housing and configured to provide a suction force to the liquid extraction devices to extract liquid from a floor to the evacuation tank, and wherein a weight of the rotary motor, housing, handle, wheel, and vacuum motor is supported by the liquid extraction devices.

Description

[0001] Cross References to Related Applications [0002] This application claims the U.S. Provisional Application for Apparatus, System, and Method for a Ratary Head Cleaner, filed July 28, 2010, by Edward E. Durrant et al. Priority of patent application Ser. No. 61 / 368,525, which is incorporated herein by reference. technical field [0003] The present disclosure relates to floor cleaning devices and, more particularly, to rotary head cleaners for extracting fluid from floors. Background technique [0004] Cleaning of carpets to remove stains, dirt, etc. is done using a variety of different methods including dry cleaning techniques, wet cleaning techniques and vacuuming. Wet cleaning or steam cleaning as commonly known is a technique that involves spraying heated water onto the carpet, carpet agitation and hot water extraction. The extraction step may require multiple passes of the cleaning tool to extract water from the carpet. Finally, the rug is allowed to dry. [00...
